All Karina Banks jewellery is made from the highest quality recycled sterling silver, 9ct gold and 18ct gold plate unless stated otherwise.
We ensure to make each piece to the highest standard and advice our customers to look after their jewellery by treating it with care and following our top tips below.
Over time metals can become dull and scratched from contact with chemicals, the natural oils from your body or by being knocked against other materials. This is why we advise you to remove all jewellery before washing, swimming and sleeping to prevent tarnishing and tangling.
If your jewellery needs a spruce you can clean it at home with a soft toothbrush and warm soapy water. Or you can bring it back to our studio for a polish/re-plate for a small fee.

18ct gold plating
All gold-plated Karina Banks pieces are plated using 18ct yellow gold.
Plating can wear away over time but if worn and stored with care then can last a lot longer.
We advice you to take care when handling gold plated jewellery. Excessive handling and prolonged wear can accelerate wearing away of the plating.
Always remove gold plated jewellery before showering, spraying perfumes, applying lotions, swimming or exercising. Store your piece safely by itself when not being worn as knocking against other jewellery can scratch the surface of the metal.
You can clean your gold plated jewellery in warm soapy water by using a soft cloth or soft toothbrush. Please ensure to rinse your piece thoroughly and dry after, and shine up with a soft dry cloth.
(Please note ~ repeated cleaning and polishing will wear away the plating over time)

All silver Karina Banks jewellery is made from 925 Sterling Silver.
Please store your silver jewellery in a cool and dry place out of direct sunlight. Damp and hot conditions can cause tarnishing, especially with silver.
Always remove silver jewellery before showering, spraying perfumes, applying lotions, swimming or exercising as this can also promote tarnishing.
Once removed please store your silver jewellery in separate pouches or boxes to prevent the pieces from knocking against each other, as this can scratch the surface of the metal.
You can clean your silver jewellery in warm soapy water by using a soft cloth or soft toothbrush. Please ensure to rinse your piece thoroughly and dry after, and shine up with a soft dry cloth.
